Green canopies in a dense forest with a bit of sky, seen from the ground.

Only a few steps down the road, and I was in another world. Green canopies embraced me in a refreshing shade, and the pace of life slowed, lulled by an orchestra of rustling, chirping and gurgling. Now the trees are fallen, and in a few weeks smoke will come out of the funnels.


Note: This piece was written for 53 Press monthly challenge, where you have to write a piece with exactly 53 words. The prompt for May 2020 was “something short”.
